Last Sunday, at the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run, the Tribe team ran an incredible 52 miles, equivalent to two marathons, to support their amazing work. The funds that they raised will go towards the Chesed Bursary Fund which enables children from all backgrounds to take part in their exciting programmes such as Tribe Israel Tour and Summer Camps.

Many United Synagogue community members also took up the challenge to fundraise for their local youth programmes and activities. There was extra incentive with the ‘The US Community Kiddush Cup’ and a Kiddush for their youth on the line for the community that had the largest number of runners. There were many contenders for the coveted trophy as lots of communities took such an active role in the Fun Run but in the end Shenley US deservedly took the title.

Speaking after the run, The US President, Stephen Pack, said: “As well as a fantastic day out, the Maccabi Fun Run provides us with a great opportunity to raise money to provide our young people with the resources they need to live an inspired Jewish life. A big thank you to all who took part and warm congratulations to the organisers.”

David Collins, US Director of Young People and Young Families, said: “It was absolutely wonderful to see the Tribe Team putting on their running shoes to help ensure our programmes are accessible for everyone. The members of our communities who also ran stepped up to raise funds for the young people in their communities and ensure we inspire and engage them as our Jewish future!”
