Last week Tribe took 21 Year 10 students to Jerusalem on a week-long trip as part of their Learn2Lead programme. The experience aimed to strengthen participants’ Jewish identity and infuse them with a love for Israel, the Jewish Homeland.

Participants had a moving and meaningful week with experiences at Yad Vashem, the Kotel and Mount Herzl. They also learnt about Jewish life and culture in Israel through Sem/Yeshiva partnered learning and volunteering activities.

In addition to the educational part of the trip there were also some more light-hearted moments as the group took part in fun activities such as teambuilding games, go-karting and even a huge snow fight following the unexpected bad weather.

Lindsey Briggs, one of the leaders of the trip commented: “As much as we can teach about our heritage and our connection to the land of Israel, there is no better way to connect than actually making the trip.”

Learn2Lead is a two-year leadership course open to youth in school years 9 and 10, designed to teach leadership and teamwork skills to the future young leaders of our community.
