Salary: £5,000 p.a. for each successful candidate.
Hours: 10 working hours per week to include Shabbat and Yom Tov services and activities.
Hendon Synagogue, with over 1,100 members and over 400 children is one of the largest congregations in the UK and a flagship of the United Synagogue. We are a modern Orthodox community that caters to a very varied membership.
We are seeking to recruit two new Youth Directors or a Youth Couple who will help to enhance the informal Jewish experiences of the Youth, and who are themselves knowledgeable and Jewishly-literate.
Responsibilities will include empowering the Youth of the community to organise youth services on Shabbat and festivals, planning innovative programs and building relationships with the Youth of the Synagogue. The successful candidates will be expected to work closely with Tribe.
Applicants should have proven experience in youth positions and demonstrate the ability to plan and budget for varied social and religious programming from conception through to execution.
You must have initiative, organisational, administrative and communication skills and be able to transmit your passion for Judaism to others.
The successful candidates will work closely with the Assistant Rabbi.
