Grounds Person - Willesden Jewish Cemetery

£20,600 per annum

39 hours per week (M, Tu, W, Th & Sunday) 

Reporting to the Willesden Cemetery Duty Manager, the successful candidate will work in one of our main cemeteries. The role requires the undertaking of erecting or making safe of memorials, maintaining the grounds and all horticultural operations, as well as ensuring the building complex is presentable to members of the public at all times. Full training will be provided, and other duties will include:

  • Driving a van
  • Preparation of and digging graves
  • Renovation and washing of memorials using specialised equipment
  • Gardening and cleaning of the grounds and memorials using hand tools and various machinery
  • General cleaning and tidying up
  • Any other duties that may be deemed necessary by the manager

The successful candidate will be expected to work well in a team and work outdoors in all weathers. You will have a sense of achievement, be well organised and be able to adopt a practical approach to tasks given. The ability to work unsupervised and project manage your area of work is essential in order to deliver results under pressure and within tight deadlines and objectives. Attention to detail to ensure duties are carried out with the accuracy and quality is important.
