Cheder Head Teacher – Term Time - Kingston, Surbiton and District Synagogue
Jobs Closing Date:
Thursday 30th June 2022

Salary: £3,000 per annum plus expenses for substantial travel time subject to negotiation

KSDS have a small but vibrant Cheder with children from 4-13, who are keen to learn. We look to instil a Jewish identity, making the children proud to be Jewish.

Our aim is for our children to have a firm foundation to their Judaism, while looking forward to their time attending each week. We immerse them from a early age in drawing, painting, reading, learning, and singing. The children have always been a wonderful advert for our shul when they perform at Holocaust Memorial Day and Remembrance Day services.

There are two highly experienced teachers, Rabbinic GCSE support and two student teachers (supporting toddlers and Hebrew reading).

We seek to appoint a dynamic leader who can take the Cheder forward through its critical next phase.

An ability to work effectively with children of the relevant ages is essential. In order to be successful in this role you would need to be organised, creative, confident, enthusiastic, friendly, and open-minded.
