The annual Tribe 'Chanukah on Ice' event returned to the Tower of London on the fifth night of Chanukah for a chilly but exciting afternoon of ice skating, candle lighting and doughnut eating.

More than 300 Tribe members arrived with their families to the sold out event at the ice rink to skate against the spectacular backdrop of the London skyline.

Following a fun hour of skating, everyone crowded around the Tribe Menorah, which was hand-built by Tribe staff, for candle lighting led by Rabbi Ari Shainfield of St. John’s Wood United Synagogue. This included an uplifting rendition of Maoz Tzur and Tribe staff were on hand to serve doughnuts which were greatly appreciated by the crowd.

David Collins, Tribe Executive Director, commented “Chanukah on ice is a great example of what Tribe can achieve. Seeing 350 people from a variety of communities lighting the Chanukah together was amazing. It was even more amazing to see 350 doughnuts disappear in seconds!”
