On Sunday, 100 boys from 10  different United Synagogue communities participated in Tribe’s annual Tribe-A-Side tournament at Powerleague in Mill Hill. Split into two tournaments; Years 7 and 8 competed in one tournament and Years 9 and 10 in a second.

With the weather holding up beautifully, the standard of play was very high, with not much between the teams.

After the initial group stages, the teams progressed to knockout rounds. Both finals were contested by Finchley and Woodside Park. The eventual winner for the Years 7-8 tournament was Woodside Park US who won a thrilling encounter 6-4, whilst ‘Kinloss A’ from Finchley US lifted the trophy in the Years 9-10 tournament winning 4-2. Gabe Cooke, part of the winning Woodside Park team in the Year 7-8 Competition said:  "6-4 was an unbelievable way to win the final. The whole team played really well. Thanks to Tribe for organising such a great event."

Joni Kleiman, Tribe Fieldworker added: "The day went really well and thankfully the weather just about held out! Fantastic effort from all the teams but especially the guys from Woodside Park and Finchley, as it could have had a clean sweep from either synagogue! This is just one of many great events Tribe have planned for the summer months."
