On Sunday more than 200 people skated their way around the Tower of London at Tribe’s annual ‘Chanukah on Ice’ to celebrate the final night of Chanukah with ice-skating, candle-lighting and doughnuts.

With the iconic building and London’s beautiful skyline as a backdrop, families and teens wrapped up against the wintery weather and skated the afternoon away at the sold-out event. Following an hour on the ice, attendees came together to light the Chanukah candles and sing an uplifting rendition of Maoz Tzur. There was even time for Tribe staff to hand out doughnuts, possibly the last Chanukah ones of the year, to the appreciative crowd.

David Collins, Director of Young People and Young Families, said: “We’re delighted that so many people have chosen to celebrate Chanukah with Tribe. The wonderful and warm atmosphere has helped inspire attendees to get into the Chanukah spirit and engage with this amazing festival.”

United Synagogue President, Stephen Pack, commented: “This immensely popular event has become a regular in the Tribe calendar. It brings together families and youth from across the community to celebrate Chanukah in a great way”.
