Over the last few weeks, the Tribe Israel Team have been collecting funds in order to support victims of the fires that swept across Israel. After liaising with those affected, the money was used to provide various items which were urgently needed such as mattresses, blankets and mezuzahs.

After an immediate response, over £3,500 was raised in just over 24 hours. The wonderful support from the community continued as donations soared over the £5,000 mark, before reaching over £7,250.

Gaby Godfrey who coordinated the project said: “The response from recipients was incredible and hugely heartwarming. It means so much that we’ve reached out and made a real difference to victims at a time when they are really suffering. We’re all so grateful for the support we received”.

In the build-up to Chanukah, a time of joy and celebration, the campaign was a perfect opportunity to make a massive difference to those who are facing a bleak time and who are desperately in need of help.

Reflecting on the campaign, David Collins, US Director of Young People and Young Families, commented: “With every single pound received being used to assist many families whose lives have been severely disrupted by these fires, this extremely successful campaign demonstrates our community’s ability to unite in order to help others in times of distress. We hope that the money will be of some comfort to the affected families”.
