This week Tribe launched the Meir Edition Siddur, an A3 version of the Siddur for Young Children and Families, Siddur Yonah. The launch took place at Kerem School’s Early Years Unit in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

The siddur has been designed to be used by those leading prayers either in school, cheder, or in Children’s Services for children aged 3-6. United Synagogue and schools under the authority of the Office of the Chief Rabbi, as well as US communities with young members, will each receive one free copy of the Meir Edition siddur.

The ‘big book’, has been kindly sponsored by the Samuels family in memory of Mr Jonathan Fine, Doreen Samuels’ late husband, and was presented at Kerem School in front of family members. It is hoped the new siddur will further encourage young Jews to be proud and active members of their communities.

US Education Consultant, Simon Goulden, who managed the project commented: “We are delighted to unveil this amazing Siddur which we hope will help inspire those using it in nurseries, children’s services and chedarim. To everyone involved, we say a heartfelt thank you.”

Doreen Samuels said: “This is a wonderful Tribe  project for all nurseries, schools and children’s services  and I am so excited to see the launch today at Kerem School, especially with Jonathan’s grandsons there, too.”

The original Siddur Yonah was kindly sponsored by Sue and Anthony Broza.
