This week the United Synagogue have appointed David Collins as Director of the newly created Young People and Young Families division. This department will bring together the work of Tribe, Young US, Chedarim and Schools into a new division and give these crucial areas a greater profile within the organisation.
The announcement comes as new Chief Executive, Dr Steven Wilson, starts to implement changes as recommended by the recent US Strategic Review.
David Collins was previously the Executive Director of Tribe, the United Synagogue’s youth arm.
Speaking about his new role, David Collins said: “I’m delighted to be given the responsibility to lead one of the most crucial areas of the United Synagogue. Young people are at the heart of The US and I’m excited to start implementing changes that were highlighted in our Strategic Review to help move the organisation forward.”
Dr Steven Wilson, US Chief Executive commented: “Over my first months in The US, I’ve been thinking about how best to prepare for implementing the Strategic Review. I feel that David brings a wealth of experience with him and will flourish as a new Director of our organisation. I’m looking forward to working with him in this important new role.”
