Investment in local community youth activity is “vital” to secure the future of UK Jewry, guests heard at an event held at Radlett United Synagogue on Sunday evening.

The event, hosted by David Brooks, Hayley Ronson and David Lander gave guests a chance to hear about the important impact of Tribe’s work at a local level. Radlett’s Rabbi Jonny Hughes and Tribe founder Rabbi Andrew Shaw both described “the vital need to invest in Jewish youth”, two of whom Gemma Ginsburg and Max Steiner also spoke about the positive impact that Tribe’s work had had on them.

Organiser, David Brooks said: “The opportunity we have is enormous. With the right investment and resources, Tribe can access ten thousand Jewish children who belong to United Synagogue shuls. Add to that number their parents, and the potential impact on the whole of the Jewish community is immense. We have to invest in our children now if they are to be an active part of the Jewish future.”

David Collins, the executive who heads Tribe, commented: ‘We are committed to creating a future for our communities through engaging, educating and inspiring the next generation. Growing investment in this area will enable us to achieve great things for the future of UK Jewry.”

Also at the event was US Trustee Claire Lemer who commented: “We have a duty to build a vibrant Jewish future for our youth. We can only do this by engaging, educating and inspiring the next generation in their local communities. This is why we must invest in Tribe.”
