Youth Director - 6 hours per week - term time only (34 weeks per year)

£3,000 per annum

Highgate is a small, informal and friendly community of 250 families.

There are approximately 200 children in the community from 0-18 years. We are seeking a part time youth worker to work alongside Rabbi Nicky and Rebbetzin Shuli Liss in leading our community’s programming for young people in order to encourage participation in shul life and to support our children’s development of a Jewish identity.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Organising once per month activities on Shabbat mornings and during Chagim, and a once per term activity for each of our key age groups.
  • You will be expected to support, and encourage participation in a range of our shul’s special interest activities such as: Mitzvah Day, Shabbat UK, and our highly successful klezmer group.

Applicants should have proven experience in youth work along with strong organisational, communication (written and verbal) and administrative skills.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and proactive, and have experience in delivering successful programmes. Ideally applicants will have experience in a youth movement and be able to inspire our young people to connect with Judaism in ways that are meaningful to them.
