TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1) TCM Membership is available only to persons of the Jewish Religion as defined by the Office of Chief Rabbi. In the event of any question arising at any time in regard to the personal status in Jewish Law of yourself, your wife, or any of your children, the decision of the Office of Chief Rabbi will be final.
2) In order to check Jewish status you may be asked to supply Tribe with marriage, birth, adoption, or conversion certificates - as deemed necessary by the person/s administering your application. 3) By becoming a member of TCM you automatically become a member of the United Synagogue, and therefore have all rights conferred upon a member under the United Synagogue Byelaws as amended from time to time. 4) Minimum membership is for 12 months. Exceptions are when member is no longer eligible due to marriage or age. Membership of TCM ceases the 31st December of the year that you turn 30. 5) Part of your membership contribution is allocated to make you a member of the United Synagogue Funeral Expenses Scheme (FES). Burial Rights (& basic cover for cost of funeral) becomes effective only after six months membership and will only continue while membership contributions are regularly being paid. Please note that the scheme operates like any insurance scheme and therefore provides you with rights only as long as you are paying your membership fee. 6) Notice of resignation or transferral of membership must be put in writing and sent to Tribe. 7) A member will be entitled to vote and can be elected on Committees and the Board of Management only after six months membership. 8) The supply of incorrect information may at the discretion of Tribe render membership invalid. 9) Please note that for members transferring from regular synagogue membership to TCM within the same synagogue that the synagogue reserves the rights to claim any arrears in fees. This may affect your right to TCM membership. 10) For yearly TCM payments an initial payment will be taken on application for the remainder of the year, with subsequent payments taken on the 1st January. Monthly payments will be taken on the 1st of each month from application. If applications are rejected and payment has been taken a full refund will be given. 11) Refunds and cancellations. TCM membership can be cancelled at any time after 12 months. Written notice is required (email is acceptable) and will need a 28 days notice period. Refunds on cancelled memberships will be made for remaining months on yearly memberships. Full refunds will be made if applications are rejected.
