Last weekend, Tribe hosted representatives of 21 United Synagogue communities at their fourth annual Engage Conference at Needham House Hotel in Little Wymondley, Hertfordshire.

The purpose of the conference was to develop and advance the skillsets of youth-facing professionals within the United Synagogue. The conference was also used as an opportunity to explore new initiatives and to deepen connections between central staff, rabbinical staff, Youth Directors and others working with the youth of The US.

Both staff members and participants gave sessions, with numerous expansive and enjoyable social sessions, which ran late into the night. Topics included expanding the existing range of innovative methods for inspiring youth in their Judaism, as well as how to provide engaging informal education programmes. Dr Steven Wilson, Chief Executive of the United Synagogue, was the guest at the conference.

Ben Vos, Tribe Community Liaison Manager, said: “The fourth annual Engage conference was another instalment of networking and professionalisation for youth professionals from across the United Synagogue, which is facilitated centrally. Through Engage, our training and meet-ups now established throughout the year, we are providing an ever-greater level of connected and effective programming for Tribe members at a community level.”
