RECORD NUMBERS CELEBRATE SIMCHAT TORAH WITH TCM

Last Sunday, over 450 young adults aged between 21 & 30 celebrated Simchat Torah at events across the United Synagogue in partnership with Tribe Community Membership (TCM) - including an Arabian themed banquet, BBQs' and an 'Around the World' themed dinner.

Both new and old members came from far and wide to mark the conclusion of the annual cycle of Torah readings including over 100 people attending a Lawrence of Arabia themed dinner hosted at Alei Tzion synagogue. Guests arrived at the Shul which resembled a scene from Aladdin decorated with palm trees, hundreds of suspended stars and Aladdin style lamps. Throughout the evening guests were treated to a feast of Persian delights and Debra Sherman, a TCM member who attended the event said: "It was a lovely event with a warm welcoming atmosphere. It was great to see so many of my friends partying together".

However the biggest event of Simchat Torah was the RCAM (Raleigh Close Alternative Minyan) Simchat Torah dinner at Hendon United which attracted over 160 people. The RCAM Simchat Torah dinner has become a major social event in the Hendon calendar and raised vital money for charity,.

David Collins, Tribe Community Executive, said: "This year Simchat Torah was thoroughly enjoyed by our members and all the events had something for everyone. We would like to thank the communities' volunteers for their hard work, and we look forward to another year of excellent events."
