Participants were able to enjoy a broad range of activities including a visit to Alton Towers, rock climbing, quad biking and abseiling. The Camp also benefited from an inspiring and educational Tisha B'av ceremony, themed 'United We Stand' learning about the significance of the fast day, Jewish history and identity.
This year saw some, 20 participants from the Tribe Kids Summer Schemes (aged 10- 11) join the camp for a two night stay.
The success of Tribe Kids Summer Schemes also continued this year with nearly 300 participants in five different locations, including Brondesbury Park, Finchley, Muswell Hill, Stanmore United Synagogues and Wolfson Hillel Primary School. The Schemes ran over a three week period and activities included wall climbing, go-karting, t-shirt painting and Israel themed programmes run by the JNF.
Rabbi Andrew Shaw, Tribe's Executive Director, commented, "This year's Camp and Summer Schemes have been the best ones yet and are the culmination of all the work that Tribe has been involved with in our communities over the past 12 months. We are already working hard with our communities for the year ahead with a full range of programmes for all ages."
Josh Rose, 15 of Chigwell, Essex said "Tribe Camp has been a wonderful experience, where our knowledge of Jewish heritage has been explored alongside amazing outdoor activities. I can't wait to be involved in future Tribe events."
